Jakarta ANTARA News - Menteri Telekomunikasi & Informatika Republik Indonesia, Rudiantara melakukan peresmian Akses Internet di Desa Uma Beringin, Kecamatan Uter Iwes, Kabupaten Sumbawa, Nusa Tenggara Barat NTB pada 17 Maret lalu. Pada acara tersebut hadir Arya Damar President Director Lintasarta, Wakil Bupati Sumbawa, Anggota Komisi I DPR RI dan Dirjen PDT. Lintasarta sebagai Information & Communication Technology ICT Total Solution Company terus mendukung program Universal Services Obligation USO dari BAKTI Badan Aksesibilitas Telekomunikasi dan Informatika dengan membangun akses internet di daerah yang sulit terjangkau di Indonesia salah satunya di Sumbawa, NTB. President Director Lintasarta, Arya Damar dalam keterangannya diterima di Jakarta Selasa mengatakan, “Suatu kebanggaan tersendiri bagi Lintasarta untuk secara aktif mendukung pemerintah melakukan upaya pemerataan pembangunan infrastruktur jaringan telekomunikasi termasuk pembangunan jaringan melalui program USO di daerah-daerah terpencil yang selama ini belum terjangkau layanan telekomunikasi dasar sekalipun.” Arya Damar mengatakan, untuk lokasi NTB, Lintasarta sudah memasang 37 Lokasi. Ia mengatakan, tahun lalu jaringan internet gratis dipasang di lima titik sekitar Karawang. Kemudian pada tahun ini ditambah sepuluh titik, sehingga pada tahun ini akan ada 15 titik jaringan internet gratis bagi masyarakat. Jaringan internet gratis itu dipasang di areal terbuka, seperti di areal taman, dan lain-lain. "Tujuannya adalah untuk memudahkan masyarakat dalam berkomunikasi. Selain itu, jaringan internet gratis ini juga bisa dimanfaatkan untuk belajar dan lebih melek internet, kata Yasin. Kepala Bidang e-Government Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika setempat Ade Kurnia sebelumnya mengatakan, pihaknya menyiapkan 20 Mbps atau megabit per second paket data. "Layanan internet itu bisa dinikmati masyarakat secara bersamaan," katanya, seraya menambahkan salah satu titik pemasangan jaringan internet gratis itu di areal parkir Stadion Singaperbangsa Karawang. Sejumlah masyarakat Karawang yang "nongkrong" di areal parkir Stadion Singaperbangsa mengakui jaringan internet gratis tersedia tanpa "dikunci".
